Star Wars Episode I
Horizontal Banner (1st Teaser)

Arguably the prize jewel of the collection! This is the first teaser banner that was issued to theatres that were booked to play Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace in 1999. It shows a young boy standing in the desert, casting a long shadow. Upon closer inspection, we find that the shadow is the helmeted figure of Darth Vader! (Remember when you first saw this image? That's foreshadowing!)

The banner measures 92"x47" and makes a great "artificial outdoors" for those in windowless rooms!

The cryptic words "EPISODE I" appear at the far right, but the real giveaway was the LUCASFILM™ logo in the bottom corner!

This banner was used in theatrical display, and has some carefully-placed staple holes around the edges where it was attached waaaay up off the ground, far from theatregoer's grabby fingers. It has grommets along the top edge and in the bottom corners, as well as the standard adhesive & Velcro™ attachments.
